Mathematical Nature.  This lecture introduced us to structure, chance and algorithms in a selection of visual and graphic arts. Fibonacci Sequence. The Fibonacci Sequence is a  series of numbers where a number is found by adding up the two numbers before it. So for example starting with 0 and 1, the sequence goes 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, and so forth. Fibonacci Spiral. The Fibonacci Sequence actually appears in nature in the form of the Fibonacci Spiral,  from sunflowers to hurricanes to galaxies. Sunflowers seeds, for example, are arranged in a Fibonacci spiral, keeping the seeds uniformly distributed no matter how large the seed head may be.  Below is an example of the fibonacci Sequence of sunflower seeds.
